Speech & Drama

NEW SECTIONS - NEW PRIZES - NEW SPONSORS

How we look, sound and act in front of others determines how we are perceived in both childhood and in our adult lives. Speech & Drama teaches students how to project their voice, how to read aloud fluently, how to portray various characters and how to perform confidently in front of audiences. They gain presentation skills, learn the importance of movement and body language and become better communicators.

The Warrnambool City Eisteddfod Speech & Drama syllabus provides opportunities designed to encourage progressive development for students from Year 5 to VCE level in the following performance activities: Oral Reading, Individual Acting Skills, Group Performance, Choral Speaking, Communication Skills and Speech Presentation.

Adjudication is by highly qualified Speech & Drama teachers.

The emphasis in the adjudication is on progressive development from each competitor’s current level of performance.

This year's competition dates are:

Secondary > 13 - 17 May 2024

Primary     > 20 May - 24 May 2024
